    Terms of Service & Refund Policy

    Welcome to Ortman Farms. By using our website, mobile application, or delivery services, you agree to the following terms.

    1. Services & Orders

    Ortman Farms provides farm-fresh products including pasture-raised meats, honey, lumber, and cattle feed.

    • Accuracy: You are responsible for providing a correct delivery address within our St. Lawrence and Franklin County service areas.
    • Product Availability: As a working farm, availability is subject to seasonal harvest. We reserve the right to substitute or refund items that become unavailable.

    2. Delivery & Local Pickup

    • The "Doorstep" Rule: Our products are perishable. It is the customer's responsibility to be available during the communicated delivery window or provide a cooler with ice packs on the porch.
    • Liability: Ortman Farms is not responsible for spoilage or theft of products left unattended after a successful delivery to the address provided.

    3. Refund & Return Policy

    We want you to be satisfied with your farm-to-table experience. Because we sell food, our return process differs by product type:

    A. Perishable Goods (Meat, Eggs, Honey)

    • Safety First: For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept physical returns of meat or opened food products.
    • Damaged or Spoiled Items: If a product arrives damaged or spoiled, do not discard it. Please take a photo of the product and the label and email it to ortmanfarmsny@gmail.com within 24 hours of delivery.
    • Resolution: At our discretion, we will provide a store credit, exchange, or refund for the affected items.

    B. Non-Perishable Goods (Equipment, Apparel)

    • Items must be returned within seven (7) days of purchase.
    • Items must be in new, unused condition with original tags.
    • Return Process: Email us to obtain a Return Authorization (RMA) number. Returns should be mailed to: Ortman Farms, Attn: Returns, 455 Maple Ridge Road, Brasher Falls, NY 13613.
    • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

    C. Final Sale Items

    The following items are non-returnable and non-refundable:

    • Lumber
    • Cattle Feed
    • Custom or "Bulk Half/Whole" Animal Orders (Deposits are non-refundable).

    4. Community Guidelines

    Our app/site includes community features for sharing recipes and farm updates.

    • Respect: We maintain a "neighbors-first" policy. Harassment or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate account termination.
    • Content: By posting recipes or photos, you grant Ortman Farms a right to share that content within our community.

    5. Limitation of Liability

    Ortman Farms is provided "as is." While we strive for the highest quality, we are not liable for any indirect damages arising from the use of our products or delivery services. Our total liability is limited to the purchase price of the items ordered.

    6. Governing Law

    These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes shall be handled in the jurisdiction of St. Lawrence County.
