Business Development / Sales Rep
Seeking Commission-Based Business Development/Sales Reps with unlimited growth potential!
About Us
Ortman Farms is a family run dairy, pasture-raised pork + beef, and feed business, where we ethically raise our animals with care, continually improving and innovating our operations for positive growth and to provide the absolute best products and service we can offer to our customers.
About the Role
You will help to distinguish our company as a local provider that brings a high level of service, quality and care for our customers. You will lead and manage the business development efforts to find, contact and bring in new customers, while servicing our existing customers for the Ortman Farms retail store.
Requirements
- Ability to proactively search and contact new customers.
- Ability to self-manage your time and schedule.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and the Ortman Farms team.
- Ability to independently conduct in-person door knocking sales calls and existing customer follow-ups in the local Massena area.
- Ability to drive with your own reliable vehicle for transportation and delivery of products.
- Ability to learn and utilize digital sales software on smartphone and tablet.
- Ability to learn to accept and process payments through online sales app and Square.
- Ability to handle product packages up to 50 lbs.
Opportunity Development
Position has the ability to grow based on how much effort and interest you put into it. Commission-based sales means the more sales you make the higher your earning potential is.

Packaging, Delivery + Customer Service Rep
Seeking Part-time Packaging, Delivery + Existing Customer Service Lead with Continuous Opportunities for Growth!

About the Role
You will help to distinguish our company as a local provider that brings a high level of service, quality and care for our customers.
Product Packaging + Delivery
You will lead and manage the packaging and delivery of all orders through the Ortman Farms retail store. This position requires:
- Ability to drive with your own reliable vehicle for transportation and delivery of products.
- Ability to learn and utilize digital sales software on smartphone and tablet.
- Ability to learn to accept and process payments through online sales app and Square.
- Ability to handle product packages up to 50 lbs.
Customer Service
For our existing customers, you will provide in-person follow-up for all customers on our established local delivery routes. These follow-ups will include activities such as checking in to see how our customers liked their last order and to take a new order for the following week.
Inventory Management
In a timely manner, you will collaborate with other team members to provide updates on product inventory for the Ortman Farms website manager to update.
Opportunity Development
Based on your interests and development, there is the potential to grow this role into a commissioned-based in-person door knocking salesperson.
Top Benefits
- Part-time: 9–12 hours/week — Mon, Wed, Sat from 4:00–7:00 PM
- Starting at $16/hour (90-day probation period with review for potential increase)

- Packaging of all product is done on-site at the Ortman Farms Retail Store
- Local delivery route is currently in Massena only
- Transportation of shipping boxes will be brought to the local shipping store in Massena

We are looking for an ambitious team member to join our team that is hardworking, reliable, a self-starter, charismatic to engage with our customers, has good communication skills, organized and can self-manage their time. Position requires you to self-manage your time and tasks, proactively communicate with the team for next steps and lead the completion of the tasks at hand.
